Teeth Whitening
One of the conservative yet noticeable ways to achieve a cleaner, brighter, and more youthful smile is teeth whitening. We offer both in-office and take-home teeth bleaching with custom trays.
For our in-office teeth whitening procedure, we use the strongest product on the market that is safe for your smile and that produces the best results in less than an hour. You might be familiar with the ZOOM! brand of whitening. The results of our whitening treatment with Opalescence® Boost often exceed the results of ZOOM! with much less tooth sensitivity! We think you will love the appearance of a brighter smile, not to mention how much more beautiful and confident it will make you feel.
Preparation for Teeth Whitening
Prior to your in-office teeth whitening procedure, we highly recommend a professional dental cleaning to ensure all plaque and tartar are removed to allow for a clean surface for the whitening material to penetrate. Further, a dental examination is strongly advised to ensure no cavities, cracks, or active gum disease is present. Tooth whitening in the presence of these issues could lead to varying degrees of irritation, ranging from increased sensitivity to permanent tooth nerve damage. It is important to resolve all of these problems prior to both in-office and take-home teeth whitening. Once safety is confirmed, we highly recommend brushing with a toothpaste that contains potassium nitrate (Sensodyne is the brand we recommend) for two weeks prior to your teeth whitening procedure; this process helps to mitigate potential tooth sensitivity during and after the tooth whitening procedure.
Teeth Whitening Procedure
During your teeth whitening procedure, we will take a before and after tooth shade to determine results. A comfortable cheek retractor will be utilized to expose your teeth thoroughly. Then a liquid barrier will be placed over your gums for protection and light-activated to its final solid state. Finally, the Opalescence® Boost whitening material will be placed on your teeth for 20 minutes, suctioned off, and replaced for up to three sessions.
