Invisalign Aligner Therapy

Invisalign Orthodontic Treatment at Allen Dental Office

If you are dissatisfied with your teeth’s position but do not want to spend years in conventional metal braces, consider Invisalign aligner therapy.

Invisalign is a clear and removable alternative to metal braces. Its custom-made transparent aligners are so subtle that people probably will not notice you are wearing braces. The aligners are changed out every couple weeks, gently repositioning teeth one step at a time.

Second only to achieving a straight smile, patients really appreciate the benefit of being able to remove their Invisalign aligners when they eat, brush their teeth, or have a special occasion.

Benefits of Straight Teeth

Invisalign Beautiful Smile Allen TX

Not only does straight teeth make for a beautiful smile and boost confidence, but also it greatly improves dental health. When teeth are properly aligned, it allows for excellent oral hygiene. Brushing teeth that are perfectly aligned in a row allows for the front and back surfaces of teeth to be cleaned thoroughly in one sweeping motion. In contrast, teeth that suffer from rotations and crowding often exhibit a lot of overlap. When teeth are overlapped on one another, brushing well becomes more difficult, as certain surfaces of teeth become inaccessible. The crowded areas can also serve as food traps, lending to a greater risk for cavities and gum disease. We all know that poor oral hygiene can lead to tooth decay and tooth loss, so it’s important to set our teeth up for success by having them aligned well so we can easily take care of them!

Invisalign Treatment Process

A consultation for Invisalign will be required. Although there are limitations to Invisalign, it can treat a vast number of cases. During the complimentary consultation visit, x-rays and impressions (moulds) of your teeth will be taken for evaluation. A definitive treatment plan will be devised and upon approval, final impressions will be taken and sent off to the Invisalign laboratory for aligner fabrication. Once the aligners return from the lab, treatment will be initiated. Each aligner is to be worn for at least 20 hours everyday and switched out every two weeks. Brief progress checks every 6-10 weeks will be required to ensure good progress. When treatment is completed, we will make you a set of retainers to be worn every night to ensure your new smile is kept in place.
